Colorado is an affluent state, but we don’t act that way. Our investment in public education (and other public services) has been strangled by TABOR for decades, and it shows. Looking at the percentage of our wealth that we put into public schools, Colorado ranks 38th. If we made the same effort as the national average, we’d be putting in an additional $2,759 per student. And we should.
