DESCRIPTION:It is no secret there are powerful forces in our society actively working to shut down youth-led activism and education for social progress on numerous fronts. While so many institutions around our country are bowing to the pressure\, our youth are standing strong in their determination for a better future. We invite you to stand with them at this critical moment! \nWe invite you to show your support for youth changemaking\, by contributing to our annual fundraising campaign The YCD Changemakers Gala: Dream Loud and Stand Proud. \nJoin us for this special gathering to honor community and alumni changemakers paving the way for young people today; to celebrate the remarkable work done by YCD youth over the past year; and to hear from our special keynote speaker Soledad O’Brien! Tickets purchased for this unique event include a reception\, catered dinner\, silent auction\, and cultural performances at a beautiful venue. Sponsorship opportunities at a variety of levels are available for companies\, organizations\, and families to show their support of youth-led changemaking. DESCRIPTION:Join hundreds of teens and teachers from across Colorado on Saturday\, February 1\, 2025\, for a unique and powerful day planned entirely by and for students. \nThe conference is open to all high school students and supportive teachers/adults from across Colorado. In particular\, this event is a great opportunity for groups such as: \n\nDiversity or multicultural student clubs\nStudent councils\nPeace/conflict resolution-focused organizations\, including PeaceJam and Interact\nReligious student organizations interested in exploring interfaith dialogue and positive social change\nClubs celebrating specific student ethnicities\, including Black Student Alliance\, Latinx or Hispanic student clubs\, Native/Indigenous student clubs and others\nGender/sexuality-focused student groups\, including gay-straight alliances\nFemale empowerment student clubs\nPeer counselors\nDeaf students and their allies\, including ASL signing clubs\nDisabled students from all backgrounds\nCreative writing and performance student groups\, including poetry\, spoken word\, hip-hop\, dance and other clubs\nStudents from a local youth organization\, even if they attend different schools\nANY group of teens interested in improving their school’s culture or making a positive change in their community
