SUMMARY:Rally for the Graduated Income Tax!
DESCRIPTION:We’re going to the ballot in 2026! Join us for our graduated income tax kickoff event on Tuesday\, March 17 on the west steps of the Colorado Capitol! \nColorado families need better schools and well-paid teachers\, affordable child care\, and better access to health care. But right now\, Colorado can’t afford those things. Our unfair tax code has led to a perpetual budget crisis in which Colorado cannot adequately fund education and other important services. \nWe can fix the state’s crisis at the ballot box this November. We’ve worked to identify the priorities that are most important to Coloradans\, and we’ve found a viable path to make the changes we need. \nThose who attend this Kickoff event will be among the first Coloradans to sign a petition to get the measure on the 2026 ballot! You can also leave with petitions in hand that day. We hope to see you there! \nLearn more about the campaign at protectcoloradosfuture.com and email kristenw@greateducation.org to get more involved!

SUMMARY:Signature Gathering Training for Graduated Income Tax Ballot Measure
DESCRIPTION:Register here to learn how to gather signatures for the graduated income tax ballot measure!  \nGreat Ed is part of Protect Colorado’s Future\, a coalition committed to a fair and thriving Colorado. We are a diverse group of community\, grassroots\, and policy organizations working together to enact a fairer tax code that enables a state to invest in the things families need — education\, child care\, health care\, safety\, and economic opportunity. \nWe are working to place a graduated income tax measure on the ballot this November. This change would raise an estimated $2 billion per year so Colorado can better fund K-12 education\, health care\, and child care. The proposal would also mean lower state income taxes for 97 percent of Coloradans — everyone making less than $500\,000 per year. \nGreat Education Colorado is proud to be one of several organizations leading the grassroots effort to place this measure on the ballot. Thanks to the state-commissioned adequacy studies\, we know what more we need to invest in our public school system to enable every student to thrive. This measure is a crucial next step in our fight for fully and fairly funded public schools across the state. \nOur community has powered impressive victories for public education in the past\, including gathering enough signatures in 2018 to place Amendment 73 on the ballot. We’re ready to do it all again\, together\, to help Colorado invest in public education and other important services that benefit all of us. Attend this signature gathering training to help us make it happen! (Click here to register for other upcoming signature gathering trainings\, or email kristenw@greateducation.org with any questions.)
